Lot 2688 5 HARD TRUNK TYPE GUN CASES.

1) Good quality English style oak and leather case with brass corners; lined in scarlet cloth. SIZE: configured for 26" barrels will accept up to 29". Case contains 2 piece brass and rosewood cleaning rod and 2 unmarked snap caps. CONDITION: very fine. with some rubs on exterior. Straps and handle are good. There is some minor soiling on cloth in barrel channel. 2) Oak and leather case for Westley Richards breechloading gun. Has paper label in lid listing William Bishop as agent. SIZE: for 30" barrels. CONDITION: good. Leather still relatively light in color with many light stains, scratches and rubs. Straps and handle are good. Interior cloth good; some partitions replaced. Label is fair to good; considerably foxed, with stains; one area rubbed through. 3) Leather case with brass corners and circular central medalion is lined in red cloth and has large paper J.D. Dougall label in lid. Bottom compartment is semi-French fitted. SIZE: 30" barrel channel made for hammerless gun with charge label in bottom compartment. CONDITION: very good. Leather dark with rubs and scratches. Newer straps and old handle are good. Interior cloth is very good with many stains. Label considerably foxed and stained; upper right corner missing. 4) Single gun motor case with leather corners is lined in brown cloth. Exterior with added glued and brass tacked on leather panels. SIZE: for 29" barrels. CONDITION: fine as conserved and redecorated on exterior. Straps and handle are good. 5) Brown canvas case with added decorative leather panels with brass tack accents is lined in peach colored cloth. SIZE: for 30" barrel hammer gun.
